"You Are So Precious in My sight..."

"For I am the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I have given Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in your place. Since you are precious in My sight, Since you are honored and I love you, I will give other men in your place and other peoples in exchange for your life." Isaiah 43:3-4 NAS
Do we have any understanding of how precious we are to the Lord? Do we understand or have any clue of the true cost to pay the price we alone deserved. The glorious God of the universe thinks of us as precious in His site. So much so that He knew the only way to make us able to be with Him for eternity was to pay the ultimate price. He had to be our Savior.
The result would be an infinite value and priceless cost to make us His precious possession. He is our Savior and here the word Savior in the Hebrew is yasha` (yaw-shah') and means to be open, wide or free, i.e. (by implication) to be safe; causatively, to free or succor. KJV usage: avenging, defend, deliver (-er), help, preserve, rescue, be safe, bring (having) salvation, save (-iour), get victory (1a).
Here God was the Savior of Israel by giving other nations to ruin for God's people who were so very precious in His site. Even in all their rebellion they were precious in His site. How much more we who have been set free from the penalty of sin and death by the free gift of God (6:23). The Lord gave them a ransom so they could be free. But the freedom they received has no comparison to the freedom we have in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We were rescued by another man in our place. That was the Son of man. He had to provide a covering for our sinful lives. This freedom and security we were given was done by a covering of our sins once and for all (1 Peter 3:18). The word ransom here in the Hebrew is kopher (ko'-fer) and means exactly that. It is a cover, i.e. (literally) a village (as covered in); (specifically) bitumen (as used for coating), and the henna plant (as used for dyeing); figuratively, a redemption-price (1b).
That is exactly what we needed, a perfect covering and a dyeing of our sin's that are as scarlet. We needed them to be white as snow. Since the ransom was paid for us and another was given in our place we have now become His precious. My family has this saying that we tell each other. My wife especially is so sweet with our boys and tells them all the time, "You are my precious!"
Then Jacob will respond to me, "I am Mommy's precious." Then I will ask him for a kiss and he sweetly say no he is Mommy's precious. What a sweet term of endearment for him to know how precious he is to his Mommy. What he can not truly understand at the age of five is how truly precious he really is. In the same way we are so incomprehensibly precious to the Father and we will never truly know until we meet Him face to face in heaven.
For now we can live our lives just imagining the wonderfully awesome measure of love Jesus has for us and has had even while in agony on a cross. Dear child of the Most High, you are so very precious in His site and He so very much delights in you. You were and are the joy set before Him on the cross. Remember and never forget how precious you are to Jesus.
Close your eyes and think for a minute of how the Father of all creation looks at you and says, You are honored and I love you.
